How Cleaning Your Oven Could Save the Day

Have you ever noticed how sometimes the simplest things can change your life?  Today, I wanted to tell you about one of those simple things. It’s all about how cleaning your oven could save the day.

How many of you have ever had beautiful deep dish of lasagna or casserole bubble over because it just couldn’t contain all it’s deliciousness?  Everybody has! We’ll, if you don’t get up the gooey, greasy mess immediately, I mean within seconds, that mess starts to burn and release a potent smoke into the air.  Now, I’m a fan of “smoking” my meat, but not involuntarily! The spilled food is what is producing that awful smell that also happens to be swirling around your dinner.  Instead of smelling delicious cheesy, garlic delight, it now smells like you left accidentally left a plastic spatula on the stove burner. (You know you’ve done that too.)

I did my research on this, and found out that even after one spill,  the cooked-on food starts to cause havoc in your oven.  Here are a few things that start to happen:

1. It Creates a risk to your health: Foodborne illness is a serious factor when food is left at unsafe temperatures.  Just because the oven is on, does not always mean the spilled food reaches a temperature that is safe.  These seemingly harmless spills could spread bacteria that could lead to food poisoning symptoms. If you have ever had food poising, you know it is something you want to avoid at all costs.

2. Oven mechanics could be compromised: The mechanisms inside the oven, like the heating element and filters, become coated with heavy smoke and soot.  Failure to clean spills can cause the foods to keep releasing carbonaceous substance into the space of the oven. This build up is hard on the mechanics, and like any other machine, it will wear out faster if it is not maintained.

3. Uneven Baking: As mentioned above, not properly maintaining your oven could lead to mechanical issues.  When the heating element is not consistent, and in proper working order, it could create hot spots. This can affect how even your food is baked.  I don’t know about you, but I don’t want anything messing with that beautiful golden color we are all seeking after while baking.

4. Permanent surface damage: The longer the food stays in the oven, the harder it is to remove later.  If food is left on for a long period of time, it could cause permanent staining on some oven surfaces. Ovens are a big investment, and one of the most used appliances in my home.  I want them to look nice for as long as I own them.

After learning about all that I could prevent by simply cleaning my oven, I knew I couldn’t afford all the risks. It had been a LONG time since I had taken on the task! I take part in a meal share where once a week I cook a meal for other families.  My day was coming up. Now armed with all my knowledge, and new resolve, I decided to get to work.

I researched products, to take on, what I thought would be, an incredibly brutal experience. Easy-Off was the most recommended product out there. I had used Easy-Off products before, but his time, in particular, I used Easy-Off Fume-Free Oven Cleaner to clean my oven from top to bottom.

It was SO easy, and SO much faster than I remembered!  It did exactly what it said it would do.  It cut grease and grime, and did all the dirty work, so I didn’t have to.  I can truly say, “I am now an Easy-Off gal”.  Because of that, I can spend my time and energy cooking food for my family instead of worrying that my oven is contaminating it. Trust me, you need Easy-Off in your life! You can check out all their products HERE to find out which solutions will work best for  you and your oven.

Just look at the difference! Right side was cleaned with Easy-Off…amazing right!!!

Easy Off Oven Cleaner works wonders!

Because I had a beautiful, clean oven to work with, my meal share dinner went off without a hitch. I made Mama’s Chicken Pot Pie, and one of my favorite apple desserts, Mama’s Best Apple Crumble. Look how amazing this looks! Because I have a clean oven, what you see is what you get. I don’t know about you, but I’m liking what I’m seeing!
